Assessment drilling is the next step, says Cyprus Minister

Team of five technocrats from the Ministries of Commerce, Agriculture and Communications visited Friday a drilling rig from where Huston-based Noble Energy has carried out exploratory drilling in Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Praxoula Antoniadou has said.
Speaking to CNA, Antoniadou stated that next week the drilling rig is going to be removed from the area as essentially it has completed its job to locate hydrocarbons.
Cyprus President Demetris Chistofias announced on Wednesday that the work has revealed a gross mean average of 7 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of natural gas.
Noble Energy discovered approximately 100 metres (310 feet) of net natural gas pay. The well was drilled to a depth of 5,861 metres in water depth of about 1.689 metres.
The initial data that emerged from the exploratory drilling and the evaluation checks carried out indicate the existence of a natural gas reservoir ranging from 5 to 8
