The region gained a valuable experience with regard to working with investors. In many cases those relations developed into a public-private partnerships. Traditionally, cooperation agreements are signed with investment projects holders. These agreements specify mutual obligations of the parties with regard to production development and relevant social issues.
An example is our partnership with TNK-BP, which invests in the development of oil fields in the Uvat area of the Tyumen Region (“Uvat Project”). As holder of the investment, the company enjoys the privilege tax on profits.
For five months of 2010 the region produced two million tons of oil – twice the amount of the last year. Such a dynamic growth in mining was due to the fact that in in 2009 TNK-Uvat brought into production two new oil fields (Urnenskoye and Ust-Tegusskoye). This year, the company continued drilling and construction of these fields is developing Tyamkinskogo field, also a member of the Uvat project.
